Covid caused me to sift through & catalog my box of misc coins I had not touched for over 10+++ years. Found this & I have no idea what it is. I'll post the actual coin, and a pic next to it that is highly lightened to see some of the details. Any help identifying what it is is greatly appreciated as well as its worth. I'll more than likely post it for sale. Thanks in advance for any help.

It's Aurelian. Have a look on his wildwind page.

You have in your possession a coin of the Unconquered Restorer of the World, Aurelian! The best emperor Rome ever saw :)

Really nice coin! Try soaking in distilled water for a while to get some of the deposits off

I did a quick scan of the dozens & dozens of coins in his name, quite impressive! Found a few that are close, but no cigar, will enlarge and try again. He has a tall breast plate that most don't have and the left figure on back is another key holding something that appears to not be a wreath.

I am not familar with these types of coins, did all emporars have this many coins or is this guy just special?

I’d try a day or two. Lightly scrub with an old toothbrush. Use a wooden pick to get any stubborn funk out. It won’t need much to look really nice

Most emperors did produce quite a number of coins, naturally the shorter-lived ones didn’t make as many. But Aurelian isn’t really unique in the number of coins produced, but he’s famous for restoring the Roman Empire in a time of turmoil.

aurelian is interesting because depictions of his face slowly shifted from square-jawed to giraffe-necked

Aurelian isn’t super rare. You can get a good one for like $4-$10. So, don’t quit your day job

To find the retail price, find it on vcoins.com. Find one that looks in the same condition as yours, then knock a chunk off the price.
