Hey Guys, Got to let off some of my excitment! About a week ago, i order a 2005 Proof Set and a Proof ASE. Today they came! I'm really excited, I think now I'll have to keep getting them each year? What do you think. Also is there anything to look for on the coins, to make sure there in Proof Condition, Errors? Thanks, SM
In the old days, just had to look for obvious damage (a very rare smudge or print, etc.). Now, I guess some die cracks are showing up. I recall my first proofs - were very exciting also. As for buying every year, if you do, you willprobably lose money, but if you miss even one year, guaranteed thatis the year they will skyrocket in value (like last year's Mint set that I missed). Personally, I buy a couple proof SEs, a proof set, and a Mint set. I gave up on most commems years agio whwne they started issuing 100 different ones every year.
Okay, then, we need somebody here to volunteer to miss a year and let the rest of us know so we can buy.
So, the best thing to do is buy a proof set each year and sell it if your going to lose money once they release the mintage #? Is this what your saying? I don't totally understand, sorry. SM
No, I buy it every year, regardelss, just to have a complete collection. If I miss one year, that one seems to be the one that shoots up in value. I have missed a couple proof SEs, but I am hoping it was not the big years.
