Best Lighting For Photographing Coins

    I was wondering why my photo's of coins looked so terrible, so i did some reasearch and found out the florescent lights i have had for years were the wrong type of light. Incandescent lights are the way to go. Here is proof of one I redid. It was a coin that i had in a bag with a bunch of others & the difference is striking!

    Banned? I've never heard of that. It's certainly more difficult to get them these days. Halogen bulbs are incandescent and they are still being made. Most of the LEDs we use give as good a result as incandescents, but run much cooler.

    If you adjust your camera's white balance to reflect the type light you're using the difference may be a lot less.
