    OURS. ARE. CALLED. PENNIES. By the organization that produces them, no less.

    I wish we could move past nit-picking over terminology for this coin, and move on to more substantive discussion about why we're continuing to make and spend them. A worker earning $15/hour takes a bit more than two seconds to earn one cent. The time you lose bending to pick one up from the ground is worth more than the coin itself. Ditch them already! Let the cash registers and charge cards keep track of them, but don't pretend that they're worth handling as individual tokens.
