Hi. I just purchased a set of liberty nickels minus the key dates. I'm going to post the semi-key dates for opinions, and they are representative of the quality of the set overall. I'm using a lot of these for upgrades and think they are pretty decent for the most part. Unfortuantely the 94 has some digs on the reverse....but I believe the rest are problem free.

Nice coins - in order VG10, VG10, F12, VG8, VG8 net G4 scratched. Those are about what I am looking for - Looking for F's and VF's. They seem to be hard to find on ebay. My coin store is a little expensive in that range.

I agree with Mark except the third coin may be a VF. I lowered the page zoom to 50% to get an idea of what the set will look like in an album. IT IS GOING TO BE A VERY NICE LOOKING SET. What brand album will will you be using?

    Very best regards,

    What, no 1912-S? ;)

Nice coins by the way. I have always loved Liberty Head nickels...for some reasons I love them well circulated.

Nicely done, I am assuming you're missing the 85,86 and 12-S otherwise the set is complete?

thanks guys. Nope I have the 85(it's in a pcgs g-4 slab) and the 86 which is around a g-6. I've posted them on other threads, but i'll bring them along on this one too since they were asked about. why not? :D I'm still missing the 12-s:(. I had a good opportunity to buy an ngc F-12 for $189 that passed me by, but I've spent too much on coins this month already. Here they all are in a Dansco album. Hard to make out details with this shot, but I'm pretty sure now that they are all VG-8 or better except for the 85 and 86 keys, though there was some debate regarding the grade of the 86(some called it VG-8). The obverse is much stronger than the reverse on this one as you can see. I think a G-6 is a reasonable compromise.

Also, an interesting sidenote, I will probably want to replace the 1908 sometime. I believe it has been whizzed. You can see from the reflection that the coin actually appears to have luster!! It cartwheels in the light like a MS coin would. Well, this is impossible, as it grades down to VG-08; so I think it was seriously messed with. :goofer:

WOW, That is going to be one really nicely matched set when you get the 12-s.

I am using a dansco album. Working on two sets - just to use both pages. :) The reason I went with F was because I did not think the I in liberty was bold enough - but if you sent me the coin I am sure I would change my mind. :)
