Bryant & Stratton $10.00 note from the Business Colleges of banking. It's legal script used in their tuitions. Dated Sept. 1, 1879. A few minor problems but not bad for its age of 141 years. The black lettering is not where I got it from nor is it on the bill itself. It is on the outside of the sealed plastic sleeve the bill is in.
Neat notes, but @Collecting Nut I may have ask this question before, so bare with me as old age has a funny way of making me look stupid some times, but why do you post photos on such a disturbing background and not bother to crop them? Simple question.
I cropped as best as I could. I could have cropped more but I would have had to turn the bill 90* and I find that annoying. I had to use that background in order to get the best light possible. Only a few of my post have that as the background. Unfortunately I have a few more notes as well that will be posted soon usingbthe same background. Sorry if it is troublesome to you but I only have my cell phone to use.
It is not really scrip. It was used as training money in business classes at the school. It was not exchangeable for anything.
Does anyone else have a college note similar to this? I can't recall ever seeing one on CT so please post if you do.
It says on the face of the bill "Pay the bearer Ten Dollars in tuition on receipt of Current funds". That makes it script.
I understand. Some times I forget that not everyone is using a laptop, like I am. LOL I'm fighting tooth and nail NOT to move to a smart phone.
No Interest is available in my area due to the closeness of the creek. In winter it's easily seen from the house and there are times it floods. Therefore I use a cell. It's also cheaper. Lol
