Where is that 1803 residing today? It must have an interesting story to tell. Does anyone know its history?

    Very best regards,

    1803

this Gem from the famous Knoxville Collection features fully frosted central devices within deeply mirrored fields. The strike is absolutely full with wonderful lilac toning and blue peripheral highlights. This is the finest of the known examples and because of the tremendous strike, gorgeous toning, and amazing cameo has often been called one of the most appealing United States coins in existence. The 1803 Proof Dollar is definitely in a class with the greatest American numismatic treasures..

Nobody is showing love for the 1802. The 1802 isn't as blazing as the 1803, but doesn't have the distracting toning on the lower right of the obverse as the 1803.

    Great post, thanks.
