This is an interesting assortment of silver and bronze coins.

Are these coins from a particular hoard? If so, is there any additional information, such as location(s)?

    Thanks

To me it does not look like a single hoard, maybe just a collection of whatever is available.

    Athens (nice)
    Cappodocia drachms Ariozarzenes
    ATG lll drachm
    l Ephesos Cisataphorus
    4 Pergamon Cisataphores
Some Black sea Pontus Ae's temp of Eupator

From what I could gather, the coins came from a region on the south shore of the Black Sea, from more than one location. I guess that's the best we can do these days.

    Also, l late Roman LRB
    l Roman republican?
    l Turkish/Turkic/Arab
    2 Hunnish?

Quite a mixture and age ranges and types.

OK no Huns! But what are the last 2 AR's?

I'm surprised that most CT 'ers have ignored the challenge of identifying-however roughly-the coin mix. Plenty for the sharp,-eyed experts to get their teeth into.

Victor_Clark all my best friends are dead Romans Dealer

Some are probably like me and don't like large piles of coins for ID. These threads typically become confusing and cumbersome.

Given that antique coins are strictly controlled in Turkey, it may be best to direct these questions to your country's Ministry of Culture and Tourism: https://www.ktb.gov.tr.

    Atina (güzel)
    Kapodokya drahmi Ariozarzenes
    ATG lll drahmi
    l Ephesos Cisataphorus
    4 Bergama Cisataphores
Bazı Karadeniz Pontus Ae'nin Eupator sıcaklığı [/ QUOTE]
Para hakkında bilgi verdiğiniz için teşekkürler

Given that antique coins are strictly controlled in Syria,Turkey,Romania, Bulgaria,Palestine etc, and that no ancient coins were ever minted in the USA, I find it surprising that so many ancient coins exist there and continue to do so!
I would have thought that people interested in ancient coins would, like me, had a go at mentally scanning them and immediately pick out most like wot I did.
I don't collect Roman but I believe I noticed 2, I don't collect Cappadocian but I saw a few, I saw enough Pontus/Black sea types and had a wild guess at the last 3.Even the cistaphori were easily recognisable.
None of this work physically harmed me or caused me much mental grief.
I viewed it as a bit of an exercise-the types, age range ruled it out as a single hoard-just a collection like, Celtic, Roman, Anglo-Saxon types can be collected in England within a short distance .
