I know, right? Since starting this GTG I have been questioning the wisdom of my decision!

Personally, I couldn’t bust that one out.

I start getting crazy nervous when the value is north of $200..... and that sucker is a whole order of magnitude more than that.

You have to know many/most people look for "gotcha's" in the GTG threads. Plus, most of us do not have much experience with nickel three's, and thirdly, they are photos versus in hand observations. All of these GTG threads, to me, have an asterisk saying I can change my mind once I actually see the coin in hand.

I said 58 because its a nice clean coin, but I worried about hair detail. If that is normal for the series, I could see 63. Unless you have someone like @Insider comments, I wouldn't stress our uninformed opinions much. :)

If you do break it out keep the TPG tag and place with your album. It is your proof that the coin is legitimate. Good luck

    PR63.
I think that is the most underrated US coin design.

I would not crack it out. It is graded appropriately.

Say it ain’t so Randy! Much too nice a coin to escape the holder! I am one of those persons who will not break out a MS or PF coin to place in a Dansco. That being said, it is your coin not mine.

For a poor man's coin to fill the spot, I'd give you my 1865 holed, polished Three cent nickel. Then you wouldn't need to break your's out.

Bless you, Mountain. That is absolutely not necessary. Gift that to a youngster somewhere.

I'll probably do just that, only there are no clubs and only one coin shop in my area. I give out Buffalo and Liberty nickels to kids I see in the store when I go to town. I have a printed piece of paper that goes with it telling them the gift is get more young people interested in collecting, with web sites to young collectors.

That's a good plan. I have been known to peruse peoples profiles here on CT and send coins to the younger crowd. Found a twelve year old on here two weeks ago and sent him a few coins.

That's excellent! Get more young people into the hobby! I've been seeing a few more kids and young teens at shows lately. Plus after my daughter gets married this fall, I'll have a step-grandson to hopefully get interested in the hobby. I don't have any other grandkids.
