    Dansco Coins Stock Book #7000

Dansco "Coins Stock Book #7000" has plastic pages which hold 3-columns x 4-rows of 2x2 individual holders. I probably have more of these #7000 albums than any other Dansco album. Of course, these Dansco #7000 albums match all the other Dansco coin set albums like their US Type Set book and other complete coin set books. I also like Dansco's Currency Stock Book #7001 which holds 3 small size notes per page.

    Very best regards,

Don't be mad at the new guy(me) but I keep everything in non-PVC cardboard 2x2's

(Most of my coins are circ but I have some from the mint that I want to remove from their packaging ie: pres $'s and Silver Eagles - then put those in 2x2's)

Is this a bad idea guys????

I believe I know what you are wrestling with. You want to be able to enjoy your collection but need to be careful not to lower the marketability & value of the coins. I can tell you that most of the people that would want to buy your pres $ & silver Eagles may want them more if they are in the original packaging. No doubt, they may be worth more in their original packaging. At a minimum, preserve the packaging and certs just in case you ever go to sell them sometime. There are some albums from Dansco and Eagle that are designed specifically to hold mint sets and proof sets. You may find something in their catalogs that will let you keep coins the mint packaging & still enjoy your collection the way you like.

Yes, I have removed my share of coins from Mint packaging so I could enjoy them in my collection.

I just purchased the Intercept Shield Lincoln Cents, Kennedy Half (Vols I & II) and Jefferson (Vol I) albums to collect coins from my roll searching, some of which are BU silver or copper (yes - I realize they are tautologically not uncirculated, but they are still very shiny). I am very happy with the Intercept albums overall, but I am very annoyed with Intercept's habit of splitting a series into two albums. This means that you pay over twice as much compared to Dansco, because the individual albums are more expensive and you have to buy two per series compared to one for Dansco which has, for example, all of the Jefferson nickels in one album. Is Intercept really worth the premium over Dansco? I would prefer to keep the BU coins BU - will they really tone that significantly in a Dansco? Is album toning considered undesirable in general?

Realistically most albums are the same for collections. It is mostly how you store them that makes a difference and the location you live in too. The location is important due to availability of Albums, additional pages, additional slides, etc. For example Dansco is really popular in the West since they are made there. Whitman is really popular in the MidWest since they are made there. Littleton if popular in the East but not to much since so many people have bad things to say about thier coin prices, service, etc. Intercept Shields are popular with people that actually believe those will protect their coins since thier adds say so.
Now as for my 2 CENTS. I use Whitman mostly due to when I was a kid that's all their was so that is what I started with. Been using Whitman for a long, long, long time. Way back when I was a kid I knew that it was what was in the air that effected coins so I placed my Whitman Folders in plastic bags. As time went on I changed to Albums and still placed them in plastic bags until Zip Lock came out then all Albums moved to the gallon sized Zip Lock bags. After well over 60 years of collecting, no toning, tarnishing, corroding, staining, etc on any of my coins. The very first coin to now still looks like they did when I collected them.
I also like the massive variety of Albums, blank pages, blank album covers, additional slides, press on gold numbers/letters and lots more from Whitman.
I like the ability to make my own Albums. For instance a Liberty Head/Mercury Dime/Roosevelt Dime Album all in one binder. Of course have to leave out errors and proofs.
To each thier own but if you know how to protect your coins properly, the manufacturer of the Albums is really not important.
