This is me to a T..... I am NOT a photographer, nor am I a digital whiz. I find it quite simple to take in focus photos of my coins..... Something is being hidden here.
I inquired many weeks ago, and she stated that she wanted to auction them online, rather than have someone come to her home, etc. She's actually been doing quite well! Bidders have caught on and she's getting solid prices.
If she's got attractive, original coins like that, and she has attracted a following, then good for her!
Just got her in. I'm thinking AU58, maybe plus grade worthy? If it's a basic 58 then I overpaid by quite a bit. Could be 61.... maybe.
Absolutely, definitely, 100% AU and no shot at all of UNC. However, it is genuine, original, problem free, and has a look that many would consider attractive. It doesn't quite have the blue that I thought might be hiding around the edge, but the rest of my guess was spot on, it seems. Yes, you overpaid by quite a lot - but that's the nature of the gamble.
You should see the other coin I got from her for much less. It will be the new finest known JR-7, R.4+. Guaranteed. I'm DYING to show everyone, but I want to wait to make a thread on all three of these 1833 dimes in a couple weeks after they're graded. Bottom line, if I hadn't bought this one for $1100, I wouldn't have stumbled into the JR-7.
I am by no means a dime expert, but I see rub/wear throughout the hair, and on the beak and feathers. What I don't see is luster anywhere, so I can't give the UNC a nod.
I agree with AU58, but those are 175 year old surfaces on that coin. Great look to it, and the pull-away toning adds some extra charm. Enough to get a TPG or buyer to say it's worth 61 money, I don't think so, but it is nice.
Clearly has high point rub but can't argue with the originality. Probably hasn't been through a lot of different hands since it was struck. Nice.
Still AU. Though a better I think of what the coin looks like photo. Should get a premium. The infamous plus that has eluded most true circulated coins.
Seriously? Wow. Even with your good pics, I could swear the coin looked AU - and definitely not 65+! Dang. Teach me to ever grade from pictures.
