Trivia - Wooden Nickels

    Some wooden nickels were made and given out by specific stores more or less like today's coupons, as an inducement to shop at the particular store. And some had values other than 5 cents, such as 10 cents or even 25 cents.

    Some are worth a beer or other beverage as "Good for 1 Drink."

    Clinker, your one of the reasons I keep coming back here. Keep the trivia coming, its great to read and sometimes I can even remember parts of it. : )

    They tell me I have a bad case of Parttimerz.

    Thought I'd put in my two nickels worth..... FYI, Beyer Stadium was the home of the Rockford Peaches ("A League of Their Own")
