Any chance of a larger pic of the 1st War of Indipendence? I can not quite make out the detail

I can only imagine the scope of your collection.

 

I like the all! I especially like the one with the Indian Air Force. Very unique.

According to the description at that website, the coin shows "the combined portrait of General Tatia Tope on left side, Emperor Bahadur Shah II on the right side and at the centre the Warrior Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi in the battlefield."

First war of independence, village industries commission and top right with the building on one side and simple wreath on the other.

 

The first war of independance has the nicest design IMHO. I like it. :thumb: Nice coins. :thumb:

Very nice sets! I thought you didn't liked any of those post Independence coins from India.

My personal favorite is Sardar Vallabh's set and I hope to add this in my collection in future.

I have only three proof sets in my collection so far. One is dated 1950 (India's first proof set), second dated 1969 (with Mahatma Gandhi) and third dated 1984 (with Indira Gandhi).

Liked the one with the IAF (Sukhoi on it).. By any chance are these going to be in circulation or only as mint sets? Are they offered @ face value or additional charges?
Recently saw the new 50ps coins (of tin and having clinched fist). Though I dont think much of the new tin instead of the old steel/iron, i guess its an indication of the changing times and devaluation of the rupee?!..

see i knew it having you ont he forum will be benefivcial to me. i will now get a bag of the new 50 paise coins

these coins can be nought from the mint at a preium just like the dolar coins in silver are not sold for a dollar they cost between 1000 to 2000 depending on the set and unc or proof you can buy them from cal mint or bom mint

 

didnt know you really liked the new ones... but will definitely save a few for you in case we ever meet.. not sure whether i can save but upto a bag but a couple of dozens.
Btw i rather prefer the 1rs with charminar in your avtar to the new ones
