To my Royal British friends.... if I were have someone over there purchase me a coin from the Royal Mint that costs 53.78 pounds, how much additional cost would you think it would be to ship it to me? I guess you would also have to figure shipping from the mint to you and from you to me. I would love to purchase the 2008 Olympic Games Handover Piedfort Coin, but this coin is only available to United Kingdom customers as it has been all year. If someone can help me please let me know. Thanks.

If you are going to buy something at that price, I would sugest buying it direct from the Royal mint and pay via credit card. This way you would be coverd in case it went walk about in the mail.
The Royal mail are very funny about covering the cost of any coins that are sent (they exclude them from the normal signed for mail), unless you are willing to pay a high insurance premium.
I personaly woudnt want to be responsible for you not recieving the coin, items sent from the UK to the USA have to by law (US) carry a customs docket stating what the enclosed items are (Good way for light fingers to see what you send).

Ps contact the mint and ask would they be willing to ship it to the USA

    Hey DeOrc,
The problem is that the Royal mint wont ship this particular coin outside the United Kingdom. Whats up with that? Is this common for the mint to only produce some coins only available to the United Kingdom and nowhere else? I have called the mint and the only thing they can tell me is that it is not available anywhere outside the United Kingdom... yet. So when asked if/when they were going to release it to everywhere else in the world the two people I spoke with could not give me an answer. Maybe after they realize that they are not getting enough sales in the country will they then open it up for the world to purchase.

talk to the mint director equivalent and if you are still looking to burn your hard earned money and dont have the patience you can buy the coin from rsm or europassion if they dont have it ask them to get it for you. the guy at rsm is olga
