note: BTW these arnt really high grade, everything i got has been found in circulation except one bill that i bought, i really dont like buying alot, i ifnd it more fun to find it myself in circulation
first 2 pics are star notes i found today actually, then a few silver certificates, and finally a $10 confederate bill

    Welcome to CoinTalk atom!

Nice finds! I like the old blue notes.

I hope you do your home work on these confederate bills. There are some many fakes. Actually that goes for a lot of collectibles, period.

    Keep on Collecting!!!

hahaha, i have a tons of coins too, almost an entire collections of lincoln pennies from 1909 to 2000, lots of old silver dimes and quarters, i found a 1945 mercury dime in circulation last week, needless to say i took it home, i did my homework before buying the confederate bill and bought it from a reputable dealer

    Welcome

Welcome to the wounderful world of the hunt. Rag picker, syngraphics, currency collector, there are so many different ways to collect currency. Small size, large size, national bank notes, military payment certificates, silver certificates and the list goes on. I think Isaiah must be kidding or what other reason would he be lurking around a currency forum?

I like what you posted - I keep all star notes (except 100's or 50's) that come my direction. And the last three are better than anything I have.

i understand what a star note is but i see them so much, are they really worth keeping every bill? i let 4 or 5 slide this morning at work cause i ran out of money to swap them out with

Technically I think not everyone is worth keeping, but some of the smaller runs are definetly worth keeping. Not an expert on bills - so keep that in mind. And I wish I saw 4 or 5 every month - twice a week I get at least 20 ones and nothing the last three weeks. I use this site for http://www.uspapermoney.info/serials/ for the run totals. That is about all I know. Since I find so few I keep em all.

I hear you, I used to work at a bank and I tried to keep every $1 star I saw...but sometimes it was just too many. I have spent some if I had a number of the same note...but in general I try and keep at least one example of a particular series and bank if I can afford to. I mainly only do it with $1s, $2s, and $5s right now because I have a student's budget. ;)

Very Nice Start. I especially like that COnfederate Currency, though.
