Hey, My buddy worked at Third Army as a civilian barber and a General Officer gave a coin as a tip. The last person supposed to have touched it was President Bush. The date is 2002. It is the size of a silver dollar in a small plastic baggie and has George Washington on obverse kneeling and an eagle on a standard on the back. They are supposed to be less than 10 of them. I think he was beating her out of a tip. I would send a picture but do not have the equpment to do so. The paper on the inside has "The Presidential Prayer Team" written on it. Question: was this mass produced?

The above link will take you to a page that describes how the token came into existence but doesn't exactly say how many were minted. I suspect there were considerably more than 10, though. Apparently, these are for sale from the 'store' on this web site, but the 'store' is currently offline.

You might want to contact the person named and find out. The following is an excerpt from that page:

"Following the contentious election of November 2000, a man in Scottsdale, Arizona felt concerned enough to encourage his adult Sunday School class to pray for the newly elected president. Having taken up bronze sculpting after retirement from a successful career in business and the Navy, Bill Hunter created a prayer reminder coin using the image of our first president, George Washington as he knelt in prayer at Valley Forge. The coin was a hit with the members of the class, and the effort to pray for the president grew. Hunter soon realized that the idea had a bigger future than just his class. "

The above link to the Presidential Prayer Team website offers a silver Prayer Reminder Coin for $20. Does your piece match the photo there? Don't know if the date is the same, though. I think there might be more than 10 minted.

Thank You for the web site connection. It looks just like the gold and silver coins shown but I think it must be made of steel.

    presidential prayer coin

    hey Quaviet:
Unfortunately the coin has mostly sentimental value at thie point. I used to work for the presidential prayer team in 2002. What started as a great idea in getting people around the country to pray for pres Bush turned into a money grab for the PR agency who was given responsibility for its management after it got so big (many millions). These coins were given as a "gift" when a person donated, I believe it was $100.00, to the cause.

    I hope this helps.
    Doc
