I would love to see what many of you have out there where information on the label is wrong.

Please only post coins YOU OWN. Do not pull one off the internet.

I have a proof three cent nickel that the label identifies as a three cent silver which makes it identified as a much more valuable coin that it is. Even the TPG verification shows the value as a three cent silver. I don't have a photo at work but will try to remember to update the thread with a photo tonight.

Here is another one @paddyman98 ....as you can see the tpgs struggle with type 1 vs type 2 on multiple series :p

Just a quick note on the Type1/2 issue (and many other incorrect labels). I do believe it is a mechanical error only. No grader worth his or her salt at PCGS would think that is a Type 2. Those graders are the very best around. My guess is it is a transition from grader to form to label printing issue - known simply as a mechanical error.

The problem with PCGS is the lack of quality control. I have seen some serious errors on their labels. It very obvious that who every does the final sealing into a coin slab has no idea what they are handling. The same goes for whomever is actually packaging the coin to ship it back to the customer. Those two steps are very simple and should be able to prevent this from happening. Those people should have some idea of what they are handling. I recently saw a truly mint state coin sitting in a PCGS slab that said Extra Fine 40. I've also seen a Mercury dime struck 95 % off center with no date and really no features that could give you an indication other than you could make out the 5% that was struck was a Mercury dime graded by PCGS as 1916 MS 63 FB.

Finally got around to posting this. The label identifies this as a three cent silver. The NGC certification page lists a value of $2750.00!! LOL!
