I am going to go with AU58. I think - too fuzzy on the obverse and too much glare on reverse pictures. What is the true color of the nickel? Looks really nice. I can't really get a clear picture of the coin in my mind - could be weak strike.
There we go! I took it out its holder, so the pics should be clearer now. I just edited my first post. And unfortunately, I never won that 1872. It went just a tad bit over of what I wanted to pay. Now Mark, can you re-grade the coin now that the pics are clearer?
Okay - I still think AU58, but maybe a low MS. I think I just see the smallest touch of wear where the shield lines touch the right curl arm. All I know is it looks much nicer than mine.
I am going to agree with high AU or low MS. I do see some wear spots here and there in some places. Thanks
Gosh, I really want to go with low MS, but the way the coin is presented I've got to say AU-58. Not that it is bad, I find the coin extremely attractive, but there appear to be some breaks in the luster.
