Grade

    I´m not sure what grade this 5 Franc deserve. Fine, or is it good enough to get VF? :confused:

    Any help would be apreciatted :bow:

    You really think so? Isn´t it to much wear on the laurel wreath to give it a VF?

    Not in my opinion, and I am pretty familiar with this type of coinage - used to collect it.

    I am not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but it seems to me that there is to much wear on the leaves also. On the other side the rim is worn down to nothing which would also bring the grade down. The hair lines are nice but overall I would grade it fine. IMHO

    On the other hand many coins were not struck very well and an uncirculated coin of that particular origin would be graded as very fine by someone who is not up on that coin. I don't think that is the case on this one however. Just MHO
