Heritage has two photo process as best as I can glean. For most coins, I believe they use a scanner (although it may be a cheaper camera). The appearance of these photos is not really that bad for a batch process, but they tend to overexpose lustrous silver. The look of these scans is very distinctive -- they are lit "from below". For other coins (generally expensive ones), I believe they use a more traditional (and labor intensive) photograph. All IMHO...Mike
I had a house plant that was 30 years old. Finally got tired of the thing and threw it out - got a new one
See this one from the Stacks Auction on 17 December: Nice upside down image:rolling: This is lot number 384 here: http://www.stacks.com/lotdetail.aspx?lsid=AN00000671&asid=&lrid=AN00118726
I don't trust Heritage to show good images all the time and they will not allow me to offer the images. It's been the same for many years and they won't get my coins till things change.
This is exactly right. The batch process is done to most coins, but the expensive coins get a visual coin-to-image comparison to be sure the image accurately shows the reality of the coin. As an aside, if you have a coin you are interested in that has a troublesome image then just click the "report a problem with this page" link at the bottom of the page and say that the image is inadequate and request that it be redone. If you email is received early enough then this can be done.
I would have a girlfriend or two but my wife is hot tempered and would probably have a big problem with it so I decided not to bother. Then again, sometimes she is more than I can handle so its probably for the best
would she throw your collection out o the window? if so i know a couple of peeps i can send to collect
