    Phoenicia (Arados): bronze Æ17, ca. 242-166 BC; turreted head of Tyche / Athena on ship's prow

    Obverse: turreted head of Tyche (Fortuna) right, wearing mural crown.
    Reverse: Athena standing left on prow of galley; club and monogram above.

    Bronze, 17.3 mm, 3.91 g. Struck ca. 242-166 BC at Arados in Phoenicia (now Arwad in modern Syria).

    Ex- Biga Numismatics (formerly Alibaba Coins), Netherlands, 13 May 2020. They attributed this as Duyrat-1365.

    Solid photos, @lordmarcovan ... and nice Tyche. I am usually drawn to the WHITE or BLACK backgrounds, dependent on how it contrasts the specific coin. I find many of the other backgrounds a distraction to my eyes.

    Thanks. The photos aren't really my work. They're just recycled seller images to which I added a variety of different backgrounds with remove.bg.

    This is part of my giveaway goodies. I've decided to start formatting that material just like I would the coins in my own collection (minus the longer writeups).
