I'm posting this 1988-D Lincoln Memorial Penny... I hope the pictures are clear enough, to be able to see the details in the coin...I know the coin isnt in very good condition, nevertheless, was wondering if maybe was struck on a different planchet, or is this more post mint damage?
Pretty poor pictures, but I see nothing to indicate anything out of the normal. There appears to be a lot of zinc rot and plating issues of a normal copper plated zinc cent.
Just a normal copper plated zinc Cent with environmental toning damage and plating damage. Get yourself a gram scale. Copper planchets weigh 3.11 grams and Copper plated zinc planchets weigh 2.5 grams. Years 1909 - 1982 weigh 3.11 grams Years 1982 - 2020 weigh 2.5 grams 1982 was the year they switched to copper plated zinc so you will find them in both weights.
