I'd really have to do some digging, and even when I posted the pics you wouldn't see it. Tell ya what, you ask silvereagle82, I've warned him about based on pics before and he didn't always believe me. Ask him how it turned out. But I'll try and find some. It is much easier in person.
Depends on what was done. You have to remember that some people are pretty good at trying to fool others. Sometimes it's easy to see, but other times it's a real bear. I've been fooled, and I'm pretty dang good with gold.
if someone of your quality has been fooled then maybe there is something wrong with the standard... Ruben
Gold can be dipped with some chemicals that would knock you socks off. Ammonia comes to mind. Your right GD it definetely has "a look" to it.
Not at all Ruben. As I have said repeatedly, I am not an expert. There are many who think they are experts, but when they actually meet someone who really is - they get real humble real fast. Just like everybody else here, I am still learning.
Dont feel bad. Call it tuition. Pcgs has a contest this month to see how many BB's they can give out I think
Aj, it was NGC. I don't think PCGS bodybags anymore. I think they slab everything and the problems are called "Genuine"
Yeah I know. I just call them BB's anyways. Watch them on Ebay soon popping up everywhere with misleading titles and descriptions. Now the problem crackers wont have to crack them to sell them at choice prices, and the slab will lend credibility. The pro, is the coin is genuine, but the cons far outweigh I think. I like the genuine specific submission service better.
Thank you to everyone. I have a 16x loupe and it still looks like normal marks for an AU coin, but liked GD said it takes more experience to be able to see what they're seeing. My local dealer told me to take it to the FUN Show with me next month and see what PCGS says before I do anything else.( Like send it to NCS). It only takes me 1 hr and 15 min. to get to Orlando and that show Rocks. Now if I can hit the lottery before then.......Oh yeah, Speedy, I put it in a 2x2. Thanks again............John
