Looks like one. Nice. Really no premium for that issue. It's worth only what a collector is willing to pay for it. By the way.. You don't need to add a poll to your threads.
NAV, or No Added Value, is another way of saying it, but Paddyman is correct about maybe getting a premium from someone that collector those coins. Over polished dies have been around for years, but hardly noticed by most. Good eye Smalls.
Thank you. Could I ask besides gold and silver what should I be looking for in pennies and quarters and nickels and dimes ,only got one book just to start me off its Scott a Travers The Insider's Guide to u.s. coin values it's a old but but it's something to get me started thanks appreciate it
Get yourself a Red Book (A Guide Book Of United States Coins - Yeoman). Doesn't have to be new, the old ones are just as good since the prices aren't exact (rare coins will have higher values than common coins, but beyond that...eh) but a wealth of information.
@Kentucky beat me to it and gave you the best book for new collectors. Do an eBay search as you can usually pick one up for very cheap, and like he said, ignore the prices, even on a new issue, as they are usually out of date by the time it is published. It's the information about each series that is valuable. Also, there are many web sites with excellent information. PCGS.com has lots of good information on coins and for minting process and errors, these are good: http://www.doubleddie.com/1801.html http://www.error-ref.com And those are just a couple. If you want to focus on a particular denomination, just use your search engine. Good luck.
Thank you i probably should take all my pennies out of the penny jar so they don't lose their shine, I got one of them second wheat penny books a long time ago from a garage sale it's missing a lot of well all the good ones I guess maybe but thanks anyway I appreciate it I'll look at them with my hand held for X microscope
