It pretty much says it all on the coin. Struck in the netherlands East Indies in 1945. Made of bronze, weight 12.5gm, size 31mm, value maybe $1.
Yes, this coin was strike in Indonesia and India, but was made by Netherlands government when they colonize Indonesia 1700-1945. We call this coin "Uang Benggol" This coin start to rare in Indonesia, because they was sold to other country and the price is USD 1.5 or may be increase. You coin is genuine. Don' worry keep it is valuable because the composition is brass and maybe little bit of gold. I've 5 coin date 2,5 cent 1920 and 1945. regard yulvando ( I live in Medan Indonesia )

i've just bought one last week during my holidays in Bali; does someone knows what it is written in arabic letters ?
nederland indie 2 1/2 cent Hello, thanks for reply; but my question concerns what's WRITTEN in arabic letters. So, if an indonesian (it's the biggest muslim country of the word, isn't it?) can read it and translate it, i'll appreciate. I'm french but my mother is dutch; I'm interested by the VOC (business compagny for Asia) in 17th century. It was the dutch "golden age" !
