My new proof set arrived today the coins look good, even the prez dollars, unlike last year!!:headbang:

My issue is that the nickel is rotated in the set and it's throwing off the whole vibe. Is there any trick to aligning it? I'd hate to open or mess with the coins myself.

LOL - I don't know the answer, but I know what you mean. I don't worry about it so much in my proof sets, but I make all the little heads line up in my albums(dansco and harris). Is that the "monk"(USA show for those who do not know) in me coming out.

The only way would be to take a thin blade, like pocket knife and very carefully pry around the edges to open up the plastic holder. Then you could use cotton gloves and very carefully turn the nickel. Then snap it all back together. It takes patience to open the sets if you lift up too much on one end, it will crack or break the plastic. It needs to come up all at the same time. Each year I break a set out for my books, so I am used to opening up a proof set. But like Mark said, just might be better to leave it be. But I know how that is messing with your mojo.... that kind of stuff happens to me all the time. And yes Mark, it is the Monk coming out in me!

Yeah, I don't want to open the set, but dang it messes with me.:eek:dd: The coins are very nice though.
