I am trying to figure out exactly what I need to get to take good (close up) photos of coins, along with viewing them live on my computer screen, to help save my eyes while searching the bags of coins I get from the bank. And help and advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Dave
For searching and just looking at coins I use a digital blue QX-5 microscope. Certainly makes looking for repunched dates or mint marks. See http://www.cointalk.org/showthread.php?t=44155 for an example. For taking pictures I use a cybershot DSC-H50. Turn on the macro setting, adjust the zoom, decent lighting and you get decent photos. I recommend searching the forum for other ideas.
My brother used to have a microscope with a moniter. It was pretty cool, and cheap too. I think Ive seen them for around $25
