I've been turned down several times because I didn't have an account. Didn't like the teller/s attitude either.
Is there a good reply to these refusals. I'd really like to say something.-------zg

I picked up a few rolls from the bank the other day, wanting circulated pennies, but the teller gave me 10 rolls of new 2008 new pennies. In those I found a blank planchet but nothing else. I found some wheaties ( 51-s, and a 44 ) a couple of days before that.

I've been finding those wheaties too. I've also been finding many Canadian cents too.
Isn't there anything I can reply to a refusal like " Does that mean you ONLY do business with account holders?" or "I'll not recomend this bank to anyone specially my cointalk and coin collector friends of whom I have many." Maybe I'll throw in " in this area" too. LOL Naw, there's has to be some 'dig' or comeback to throw at them. zg

    Wheat cents

The wheat cent show up in my house almost monthly and I will take them a put them in a special box I have for them. But they are still out there. One of my favorite hobbies are Metal detecting and there wheat cents are almost a certain thing when we go hunting. Mostly 30' when we find them.

None of those comments would have the slightest affect on any teller. You might try, "I was thinking of opening a new account here and I just wanted to see what kind of service you give. If this is it, I guess you don't want my business here." Say it loud enough for a supervisor to hear.

I do ALL of my banking through the internet with a Credit Union located in a city 200 miles from where I live and with no local branches. I do, however, have a checking account with a minimal amount (about $100) in a local bank. This is so I can access teller services for change and whatnot.

Ive only found one bank (Bank of America) out of about five in my area that will sell me change. I picked up 10 rolls of pennies today there, and found nothing in the first 9 rolls, but in that last one i found 7 wheats (1918, 1940, two 1941-s, two 1942, 1957. and two canadians) all those in one roll. i was pretty happy.:D heres a couple pics of one of the 1941-s, it had two thin cuts in it and i didn't know what it was from.
