I will start thread off with my 1848-A Vienna Mint/ AV 4 Dukaten/ Emperor Ferdinand V 1835-48 His Royal portrait from 1843....
Two immediately spring to mind - A relatively youthful looking 81 year old senile old fart And a decidedly unrepresentative 76 year old great grandmother that belies her years
edit; (I may have missed te point of the thread... but he is young) Faisal II as Regent. He would be murdered in 1958 at twenty three years of age. Iraq - 10 Fils, 1943 He was used as the model for the image of Tintin
Coins that portray ruler much younger looking.... With that as the topic it'd be kinda hard to forget about Louis XIIII, The Sun King. His reign of 72 years (1643-1715) was longer than any other in European history. Now I never cared for the coins of his later years, just didn't like 'em. But I was always fond of those from his early years, just something about the bust design that appealed to me. I never obtained one from his earliest years, but with this one, at the ripe old age of 10, he had already been King for 5 years. The bust didn't change much over the next 10 years, but in 1659 they began to change. By 1659 he was 21, but as you can see from the bust he doesn't really look it, but you can see that he has aged from the earlier dates. By the late years of his reign, the difference is night and day of course. But as was usually the case they did portray him as being much younger than he actually was. He just doesn't look to be 73 in that portrait. https://coinquest.com/cq_data/cq_ro/coins_380/france_ecu_1711.jpg
