Hi Folks! Can anyone please tell me if this is a coin damaged somehow after minting or is missing clad layer plus a hard life? Why does the rim look so naked? It weighs 4.8 GM's. Thank you for your wisdom!
Sometimes coins buried in the ground or in a water environment (fountain?) turn color and get a thinner copper core from the acidic ground/water - but the coin does look burned
Yeah this one looks like an extremely long bath in thourea. Even the sulfates dried in rings. Environmental damage. .
