UK 1/2 crowns—branching out.

    I have collected a lot of Elizabeth II toned coins, of different denominations. I am beginning to go back further, and want to collect Crowns, and Half Crowns, with toning.

    Here is my 1936 George V half crown. Not my usual high grade MS, (AU 50), but I really liked the reverse album toning.

    Of course it depends on how far back. Some of the early Vickies are a bit costly but more recent are generally not.

    The key George V halfcrown is the 1930 if I remember correctly only 500,000 were minted the lowest montage of his reign.

    Yes, that would be true, although in MS63 and above the 1925 is probably more valuable. The 1925 even when unc. in the lower grades looks an ugly coin, but well struck and presented specimens are quite scarce.
