What do you think of the color of this 1945D Lincoln Cent?

Hard to say, is the color in the picture accurate as to how the coin looks in hand ? I see nothing out of the ordinary really. Can you be more specific with your question ?

The coin in hand seems a little less copperpot-ish, though not by much. As you suggest, I should have said I was trying to see how well my lighting setup worked for capturing color. The coin was cleaned and has turned a bit.

Maybe it was in the wash to long some cents that are left in the wash can have a lighter appearance to the copper, washed out. WELL IF IT WAS CLEANED YOU JUST ANSWERED YOUR OWN QUESTION. By your photo it doesn't seem to be any thing odd about your cent Sorry.

I was wondering what was on this coin when I first saw the pics. If it has been cleaned and poorly so, it is now ...... To bad.

Interesting. I dipped it in e-z-est coin cleaner by athena. It was very copperpot colored and darkened up to some extent. My goal was to see if I could get the color in hand to be the same as the image.
