Sorry i wasn't sure how to post photos on here but i think I've figured it out but i have an extensive coin collection and i have no experience with coins like how to tell which are valuable and why they would be valuable

Welcome to CT! The extra designs that are stamped into your cents were done at some point after minting, as far as I know they add no value, some would call it a curiosity and some would call it damage.

What about the coating on it ? Is it nickel coating or silver maybe ?

Yes, it's been plated with something, I'd guess zinc but it could be something else. Unfortunately just the result of someone playing around.

I don't know where to start writing to this group of Lincoln collectors. Of course, like most coin buffs, I have been touted to look for the famous favorites, like 1909 and 1909SVDB and 1914D, and a few years ago I found a 1909VDB but nothing since. And after recently going through a bunch of wheat pennies, I have come to the conclusion that my father-in-law had a collector look at them some time ago.

Just ran across this picture and took another look. Seems like almost all the marks are on the Lincoln bust including on the shoulder which is making me think planchet roughness more than PMD. Polish_20200730_204055427.jpg

I have a very nice 1943 cent in my Lincoln set, but my new type set wanted another one. I am really pleased to pick up this one from eBay for only $6.75.

More about the colors on these years gun metal was used as a filler. Nice looking cent.
