It looks like the mint have pulled the Dolly Madison coins. They have not reached the 20,000 limit in either option. This appears to indicate that the mint are willing to pull first spouse coins before they sell out. http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wc...storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&identifier=8500
"The 2007 Dolley Madison First Spouse Gold Coin is no longer available for sale. Approximately 30,900 of the 40,000 maximum authorized mintage had sold. The breakdown is approximately 12,550 uncirculated coins and 18,350 proof coins. Many collectors had been wondering how long the US Mint would sell each release of the First Spouse Gold coin series. Based on this recent action, it appears that each coin will be on sale for one year following release." http://mintnewsblog.blogspot.com/
I think the mint could bring the unsold gold spouse back out at an end of the year sale to clean out remaining stock so I would be cautious on assuming they have really stopped these at those mintages. I hope they have but we saw them bring back the platinum anniversary set again and they will probably sell those until it reaches the maximum mintage of 30,000.
