Chopmarked 1875-S Trade Dollar

I respectfully disagree, because there is a corresponding flattening on the obverse. The mark that set me on edge is the one by the date. The flattening on the reverse should be around STATES, but I don’t see much of it.

What I see:

 

The flattening on the obverse could have been copied. The surface of the coin inside that chop just looks too much like the fields. Perhaps it's nothing, but it caught my eye.

 

To me looking at it, the dentils told it all. I didn't need to investigate it further. Plus, Liberty looks like she was struck very weak.

 

For comparison purposes, here is a cleaned chopmarked trade dollar I owned a couple years ago. I bought it as fake, but it was later determined to be genuine.

 

I see what you mean. I just checked the Chinese wholesalers, and I didn’t see any that came with chopmarks

 

Nice looking 74-S chopped. Authenticating these can be tricky due to all of the "contra-coup" damage. This coin shows a normal variant that is sometimes confused with a fake marker: the weaker dentils on the rev above STATES OF.
This is common on Trades but the dentils are still well formed and properly spaced.
