BE2538/1995 Thai 10 Baht commemorative Fifty Year Reign

 

The obverse is not very clear, but the reverse shows a quadriga of elephants. AE, Nicaea in Bithynia. Gallienus (253-268). Obv: Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust to the right. Rev: NIKAIЄΩN. Dionysos seated left on quadriga of elephants, pouring libation from cantharus. 22.5 mm, 6.57 gr.

 

My most recent elephant, all but unknown to collectors and numismatics, but for Stephen Album who sold it in his latest auction.

Arab-Sasanian AE pashiz, 700-720 AD (0.40g). Obv. Elephant rider, half-circular text above. Rev. Standard Sasanian fire altar with bystanders, to the right mint formula ST (Istakhr). 12 x 13 mm, 0.41 gr. Not in Gyselen. Not in Album. 'RRR', meaning there are a few more, maybe in his next auction.
