That looks like a small sturgeon in the Columbia River Gorge.

My choice would be the Rushmore half dollar. My wife and I went there during our honeymoon. In September it will be our 50th anniversary. The time has really flown! It is due to my wife’s patience, endurance and sense of humor that She has kept me around this long.

Just an entry. Willing to accept whatever bits and scraps come my way.

By the way this was Roscoe. Found him as a tiny hatchling in the middle of the road. Hardly any feathers. No nest. No parents. Raised him and trained him to survive on his own. Released him nearly a dozen times but he kept coming back._we decided he should have a voice in his fate.

He had a huge cage given by one of his many fans and friends. It was in our huge sunroom and I opened the doors in the morning and closed them at night. He housebroke himself and loved to be hand fed. He also loved visitors and would fly to anybody who came in his room.
Alas, somebody reported me and a State of Florida Wildlife officer confiscated him and released him in the middle of winter. Later the head of the FWC called me and apologized
What does he have to do with coins? Simple. I loved him more than I would love a 1943 S Wheat penny E0F88255-E724-4000-AD6A-A24E08D2FFA9.jpeg

@Coin Obsessed - it's all good. Not kicking you out of the giveaway. Nor @masterswimmer, either- who sent me a PM apologizing for the drama. I hadn't seen any of it, since I was offline.

Actually, there WAS a 2c piece in the prize Pick Bin a while back, but somebody got it. I haven't since replaced it with another. Might do that, when I get a chance.

What a beautiful place, and impressive fish! I certainly don't mind pictures of pets and fish and cars and such in these threads (in fact, I like it). Just as long as the "coin related" rule is satisfied somehow. That part is mandatory not because of my rules but because of the rules thread for the Contests forum.

BTW, I have a coin with a sturgeon on it here.

Roscoe was certainly handsome. Two of his lookalike relatives are always in my front yard, swooping down to steal the dry kibble food I put out for the dogs.

The redheaded woodpecker, blue jays, mockingbirds, and grackles also like the dry dog and cat food too, but the cardinals will line up on the fence when I'm about to pour some out.

Edit- look- there's one now! You can't tell in this distant cellphone shot I took through the kitchen window, but that's a bright red male cardinal pecking at the dog food on the sidewalk, just a moment ago.

I would hope to take home one of the ancients if I was a winner. Your choice Lord M.
As for my numismatic part of the post, here is a nice 1g silver bullion piece that I recently purchased. (I was going to resell these but I think I like them a little too much!) 654481DC-C1BE-45E2-B31D-078B50C5B5EB_1_201_a.jpeg

BARAVELLI (through the peephole, behind a speakeasy door): You can't come in unless you give the password.

WAGSTAFF: Well, what is the password?

BARAVELLI: Aw, no, you gotta tell me. Hey, I tell what I do. I give you three guesses. It's the name of a fish.

    WAGSTAFF: Is it "Mary"?

    BARAVELLI (laughing): 'At's-a no fish!

WAGSTAFF: She isn't? Well, she drinks like one... Let me see... Is it "sturgeon"?

BARAVELLI: Aw, you-a craze. A "sturgeon," he's a doctor cuts you open when-a you sick. Now I give you one more chance.

    WAGSTAFF: I got it! "Haddock."

    BARAVELLI: 'At's a-funny, I got a "haddock" too.

WAGSTAFF: What do you take for a "haddock"?

BARAVELLI: Sometimes I take an aspirin, sometimes I take a calomel.

WAGSTAFF: Say, I'd walk a mile for a calomel.

BARAVELLI: You mean chocolate calomel? I like-a that too, but you no guess it. (Baravelli slams door. Wagstaff knocks again. Baravelli opens peephole again.) Hey, what's-a matter, you no understand English? You can't come in here unless you say, "Swordfish." Now I'll give you one more guess.

WAGSTAFF: ... Swordfish, swordfish... I think I got it. Is it "swordfish"?

BARAVELLI: Hah. That's-a it. You guess it!

I'm with you there. That one would be too dark for a lot of folks, but I like it. Sharp details, too.

Did he ever come back home after the jackass let him go? I just adopted a pair of Cardinals and their baby is eating out of my feeder now, looking forward to see if he turns out to be a male...

I'm just one coin short of a complete collection of Franklin halves....I just need the 1953-S in VF or better...hoping to get it in a couple of weeks. Since the Byzantines were my ancestors, my pick is the bronze AE 3 of Constantine the Great. Thanks for the opportunity to enter!

I think so but I have vision issues and let’s face it, they all look alike. But there has been a male that has been checking me out and I believe (hope) it’s him. But EVERY TIME I think he’s about to come to me, a female Cardinal flies by right in front of him and he chases her.
    That’s my boy!! I don’t blame him.
Because of demand I’m about 85% completed a book about him. It’s probably going to be titled Life With Roscoe; MY CARDINAL SIN.
