Strange penny

    I have a strange penny, with a smooth edge around one side of the circumference. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how it got that way? Pictures are below.

    Welcome to CT @dave g. Your photos aren't good enough to really tell the story. The reverse reminds me of a dryer coin, but not the obverse. Check reference sites online in an attempt to match up your questionable coins.
    As for the photos; Always post FULL IMAGE photos (two buttons appear after you have uploaded your photos. Click on Full Image). Make sure they are in good focus, correctly orientated, and cropped to remove any superfluous, distracting background. Show full obverse and reverse of the coin and then close ups of any areas you question. Good luck.

    I think it came out of the discharge pump of a washing machine. It looks to have circular rotation line on the obverse.
