1973 proof penny?

I have a 1973 penny that says proof on the casing. Its a bad picture but in person the coin looks perfect to me.


It was given to me for free so what's it worth a buck?

I'd say your value assessment is probably pretty close. Of course it would be nice to see the coin unless it's a very high state proof, a buck is about right. Maybe $2.
