Athena / Facing Owl on Palm Frond; Mysia Pergamon 200-100 BC
Pergamon Owl MAShops. saeen 4.8.20 obv.jpg Pergamon Owl MAShops. saeen 4.8.20 rev.jpg
Small Bronze Coin, 200-100 AD, Mysien Pergamon
Obv - Helmeted head of Athena to right, star on helmet.
Rev - Owl standing on palm frond, facing, wings spread
Above - difficult to read due to over cleaning in places – ..H.. ..N..
Letters or monograms to left – AΓ and right – ME.
Letters below – ΠEPΓ, mint monogram of Pergamon
    VF
    Sear 3966
    Bronze
    3.70 grams
    15.3 X 17.1 X 3.2 mm, irregular flan
Sear 3966, Sear lists 5 coins with differences in letters. My coin is not an exact match. I chose this # due to letters below the palm frond.
VF, dark toning, well centered on small flan, good strike but cleaning may have removed some letters.
    Bronze
    3.70 g
    15.3 X 17.1 X 3.2 mm, irregular shaped flan

I ordered this coin of April 8th and it arrived today. The coin was sent back to the seller. It made it here the 2nd try. This MA Shop seller added an interesting note at the bottom of his web page:
Because of Corona disease there will be shipping only once a week. There will be no shipping to China, Macao, Hong Kong, USA and Canada.

Good to see it came like my Henry V Groat. Stranger your seller won't ship to U.S. anymore. I haven't run into that problem, yet. My problems have all been Florida for whatever reason. I just won't buy from there for the time being.

    Here is my bronze owl.

Here's the one I ordered cheap,

And then did a caustic soak...I know the pic is overexposed, and the coin is stripped, but it will tone...

Nice Facing Owl with spread wings, @rrdenarius ! I always thought those were cool designs.

I do not have one from Mysia.

Here is my only facing owl, and none with wings spread... bummer

I did this 2 1/2 years ago, here's how it looks now. I added a drop of linseed oil and massaged it in and wiped it before I took the pic.
