I won I won...this is such a great day!!!!

Well--I entered a contest from Bower and Merena about a month ago and today up shows a free gold coin!!!!

It is a 2005 $5 gold piece...so I guess it is a good idea to send in the list of questions they send!!!!

I know what you mean Speedy, having gold in your collection after so long without one, changes things. It doesn't detract the appeal of the older coins, but for me it somehow redefined the whole collection.

Yep--it must have been my lucky day...I got in a coin I got for my dad too...he is down to 1 coin to complete a set now!!

I think that B&M gave away 100 $5 AGE this time.

The fun with winning a gold coin is that I never have collected gold at all.
But maybe now I will....Maybe

Without sounding like I'm endorsing Bowers & Merena, I think everyone might agree that giving away $100 AGE's is quite impressive. I applaud them. Especially since someone as deserving as Speedy won!

Speaking of biting gold coins one of my buddies had a 20$ liberty gold eagle and brought it to work to show his workmates. So one guy doesnt believe that its gold and bites it. Then he meets me a few years later tells me the story shows me the coin and lo and behold two humongos bite marks. My head almost exploded. Well on a lighter note congrats.

I guess that B&M gave $500 face value in gold coins this year...they gave 100 $5 gold pieces and $5.00 x 100 = $500.00--maybe other members on CT won one too!!!
