  1. I’ll add an Alexander Severus:

    And a Gordian III:

  3. Severus Alexander

Severus Alexander find me at NumisForums

All the Sev Alex coins posted above show him when he's older, so I thought I'd add some earlier issues to the thread. Here's his very first issue as Augustus, an accession Liberalitas dupondius:

And another rare 1st year dupondius:

Here he his looking very young on an Alexandrian tet dating to 222/3:

    And a sestertius from 223:

He had a large team of advisors, thankfully!

I would say Octavian/Augustus. His situation demanded a lot of independence and strength.

Well, how about a pre-teen? You can’t blame him for not quite making it to his teenage years.

Julia Maesa I believe? I have one and in very similar condition. This coin always amazes me, oddly I actually think about it quite a bit. I like how the Romans had no shame in their appearance, if you were old you then looked old on your coin!

Yes, and this period has several «odd» portraits, like Maximus with the long chin, fat Balbinus and here old, up-tight Julia Maesa. I think this is a wonderful portrait.

    [Edit]

I feel like his Dad Maximinus must have been a giant of a person, with a big chin of course also.

Then you have Gordian III with an exaggerated forehead on some portraits.
