1879/1880 Gold Grant Token!!

I'm sure you all have seen these Tokens of President Grant, minted by the US Mint in 1879 and 1880 and given to the public at a parade in Philadelphia! Apparently, there was one minted in silver and two minted in Gold!! Think about it, wouldn't it be great to buy one off of ebay and it turns out to be Gold??!! Hey I daydream as well, wishful thinking that's all!! Anyone of you's have a ridiculous daydream lately??

Hey! My name is Grant!

 

Uncle Grant was famous.

 

My entire childhood was consumed with owning a 16-D Merc. I would go in every phone booth I passed and feel inside the coin return just knowing that Merc was waiting for me in one of those coin trays...... Yeah, we all dream.

 

My day dreams run toward more impossible items, like the King of Siam Proof set. I’d take that over any other numismatic item.

Here is my piece. The best thing it has going for it, is that it came with the original envelope. I found this at a political items convention.
