1964 P Half Dollar, 12.1 g.

    I think the tolerance is .259. I checked and rechecked other 90% halves and even the worn down ones weight was 12.4, 12.5. Im guessing this is dirt on the coin ( told never to clean) if it is it should add weight. Anyone know why its 12.1? Thanks to all who reply. Sorry about blurry pics. Last pic is to show motto on reverse not gone.

    Those pictures aren't (just) out of focus, they're over-compressed. Hard to say anything just on their basis.

    It happens when its punched on a thin planchet. Is it the same thickness as other halves?

    I'm with a thin planchet. Slightly underweight and with the same as if it was normal.

    The coin in the middle is 12.1, dirty coin.
