I have my sights on a 1917 Type 1 quarter in a solid MS64 full head (with an honest good shot at 65FH). Please tell me what I should offer as a fair price for the piece. Now I will tell you more about the coin. It has great eye appeal and the look necessary for a MS65 call. There is nice light original toning on the piece. The strike is great. It has a completely full head. There would never be any debate over this full head status. (I personally have never seen such a good strike & noticed device details on this coin that I had never seen before). It has great luster as it got my attention from afar. Under a point source of light it looks quite flashy. I had to look for some time just to find one (1) tick on the coin reverse. There is no problem getting 64 and it has a shot at 65. It is genuine & definitely not a die struck counterfeit. What price are these things going for in 64 & 65 full head? Very best regards, collect89 P.S. If I buy it then I will post a photograph.
These are all over the board. Per Teletrade, I show prices from $340 (PCGS MS-64 FH) to $1,300 (PCGS MS-65 FH.)
Exactly the reason to shop around, take your time. Collect89 I hope you find a nice example at a good price. This is one piece I wish to acquire some day. Yes MS, FH would be grand. Keep on Collecting!!! Allen
I'd pay $200 tops. WHere did you see it? BTW- this is very not useful for you. There is more to the coins grade that FH. Ruben
PCGS shows $650. Coin Values says $800. I paid $700 for mine. Sounds like yours is raw, so you shouldn't pay nearly that much.
The 1917 Type-1 is, by a long shot, the easiest SLQ to purchase in FH condition, no other date comes this well struck. FH coins in this date only, are the rule, and not the exception. Market on an MS64 seems to be around $4-500, and around a grand on an MS65. I have 3 Certified 1917 Type 1 SLQs, one I paid $1100 for (CAC'd MS65 FH that is blast white), one I paid $70 for (PCGS VF30) and one that I paid $300 for (MS63 in blast white, FH) Ruben, $100 finder's fee for you for every certified MS64 FH 1917 SLQ you can find me for $200!
