1897 Cuba Peso Souvenir

Very interesting coin I bought the other day. Seems like a very low mintage. Surprisingly Ebay will not allow the sale of coins from Cuba!

I got this X#M6 three years ago which seems quite recent.
Catalog has no mintage listed for this piece.

 

I have some concerns about the authenticity of that coin... I hope it checks out.

 

Strange that Ebay feels that way about Cuba and they allow China to flood their site with fake products and counterfeits. China is the country they should ban.

 

Agreed with @serafino on the Cuban coin situation on Ebay. I even confirmed with a customer service rep that pre-1915 coinage is not covered by the embargo but, even so, the company has gone with a total ban to avoid penalties.

 

Why such animosity towards the tiny island nation of Cuba, they are not our nation's enemy.

 

I was bidding on an 1897 Souvenir earlier this month, but it went more than I wanted to spend. Would still like to get my hands on one. Recently signed up on Heritage, wow do they have some stuff. Looking at the 10 peso gold coin, it's already $20K+!! Some other items after 1915 too, wonder how they get around the ebay issue.
