Hello all! Today I just received an incredible lot of ancient coins from the hands of the extremely generous @tenbobbit . A few months ago, I was posting frequently about the many hundreds of junk coins that I spent many hundreds of dollars on. With 95% trash, those lots were definitely a waste of money, with very few exceptions. Tenbobbit implored me to stop wasting my money, and offered up a large batch of super quality coins for a price I can only describe as "generous," especially for a poorman like myself. 22 days later, I opened up my mailbox and literally ran back home to immediately tear the package apart. The coins were very thoughtfully placed in individual little baggies, which was an incredible touch. Also, the coins were taped together into a massive brick. This was GREAT since I got to feel like a kid on Christmas morning, unwrapping a present. It was quite fun to release each baggie from the tape, and extended the opening pleasure. I have the majority of the coins sorted by ruler, but there are still quite a few that I will need some assistance on. Please be patient in the coming days as I begin to request attribution assistance, especially for the provincial coins, since I am no good at reading Greek. So far, every single one of these coins that duplicate an existing one in my collection is about 10x better in grade and eye appeal. In one fell swoop, my collection has come from gutter trash to a shining star.
It was great. For 1/5 the price I paid for a thousand junk coins, I got 80-odd coins that are each about 10x better than the junk I used to buy
@tenbobbit is a stand up fellow! As are a lot of the other CT Ancients folks. I'm constantly impressed with all of you! I gotta know, @hotwheelsearl, what is the chunky byzantine follis I see? I've been on a Byzantine kick lately
