When I see a dealer trying to sell a coin with True View images, the term “strike two!” goes off in my head. Those are “glamour shots” that are designed to make a coin as good as possible. They are not reality most of the time. My instinctive reaction is to say “pass.”
I caught it, and do find it to be a bit scar. Also, I don't agree with this... I don't request extra pics unless I am dead serious about making a purchase and just need a little more encouragement, or need to see something specific. It is a waste of my own time to do so, and I don't like wasting my own time.
If this is indeed the policy, there are a lot of violators... and some have very high feedback numbers. I think those who fail to include enough quality images are only hurting themselves. It is hard enough buying coins based only on photos, and anymore I'll just pass if I can't see what I need to in the images. Especially if they look as though the seller put like zero effort into the listing.
Doesn't matter if you agree or not it's a fact for sellers. You are one of millions and millions of people buying on eBay. As I said from the start nothing against you, but if you can't have a big picture understanding that's on you
I don't know what other buyers do or what sellers deal with... I'm speaking only from my own personal experience. I would have to take your word for it to assume what you say is indeed true - that providing extra photos on demand is a waste of time.
I agree , I actually won a 1883 o vam 36a MS 64+ for 68.00 shipped on a last minute bid. I took a chance on crappy pics , the price stayed low do to the pics I am certain , I was really happy with the coin was really nice but good pics and it would of sold for quite a bit more I am sure
Toned coins are tough to buy from pictures. Often the lighting is much higher than you would see in average light. I walk away from coins with poor pictures. If it is out of focus or overexposed, I assume the worst. Silver coins that are overexposed usually means they want it to appear whiter than it really is.
