Dear forum, since I'm almost exclusively posting in the ancients forum, most of you won't know me. Still, I thought it best to ask here since I got a mystery coin or token that probably fits best in the world coins category.

Has anyone seen anything like this before? Material appears to be bronze/copper, diameter is ca. 18mm, weight 3.34g:

A bit of background: I recently bought a used Beba tray system to store my ancient and medieval collection. Presumably, it came from an estate. This piece was accidentally left in one of the trays together with some unrelated collector and auction tickets. Judging from the tickets, the previous owner was a "serious" collector of 17th–19th c. European world coins.

I would assume this to be a token of some sort, but it is way out of my area of expertise. Maybe one of you has an idea?

Wow, looks like an ancient edition of a hobo buffalo nickel! Let's see what responses you get.

In my opinion, the man on the obverse looks somewhat like Martin Luther. Other than that, if I had to guess I'd say it’s a jeton of some kind.

Of course we know you. Your world (CT World) famous. I can't help with your request but the one above mine looks pretty good.

Thanks everyone for your help and your kind words!

Wow, I guess that’s it. A Sforza weight - what a nice little find! Thanks a thousand times for the identification. The collective numismatic expertise of CT never fails to impress me.
