I am so embarrassed, I just cleaned the coin with a "glasses cloth"and it disappeared lol sorry and thanks for reading, this is a lesson learned!!!
That's not a very good combination. You can't preview the camera flash, so you have no idea what the image will look like. I assume that the illumination from the magnifier is a single point. That limits you to how you position the magnifier. What kind of camera are you using? Is it a conventional camera or a phone camera? ~ Chris
That’s happened to a lot of us. I gave an acetone bath to some coins I kept 20 years ago, they ended in the dump bank
phone camera, it can be helpful to magnify. cell phone is what i use... i guess i will have to update my technology for this.
bummer, so now i may add another step to searching. light cloth wipe before i search a coin, im glad i learned early on!!!
Love your honesty. It happens to the best of us. Live and learn. LOL Keep up the search, and good luck.
Turn the flash off, generally, set the lighting yourself, and see about rinsing coins and dabbing or blotting dry instead of wiping. On most coins it really won't matter much, but good habits are worth developing.
thanks, really want to look into a coin magnifier, sitting here with a broken foot, out of work, that will have to wait. (hence all of the coin searching and questions) i think before i post i will be absolutely sure the coin is clean!!!
Sorry to hear about your broken foot. Forget the coins, go fishing! It's so relaxing and you can eat them too.
